The DT 880 PRO is a reference-class, semi-open studio headphone which combines all strengths of open, transparent headphones with those of more powerful, closed headphones. Specially designed housings and an improved system equalisation turn this “remake” of the studio classic DT 880 into an ideal studio monitoring headphone, with analytical qualities. Soft ear pads and adjustable, sliding, earpieces together with a single sided connecting cable ensure listening comfort during extended periods of use.

    Customer Reviews

    Awesome on 04/09/2015
Had a pair of Grado SR225e which I really liked, but I had to send them back as I had problems with the comfort and the harsh treble. For my alternatives, I looked into these and the AKG K702. Whilst I liked both, I preferred the tighter (but still brilliant) soundstage of these, as well as the build quality. As well as this, the bass on these is slightly more punchy than that of the 702s. These have a very good top end which occasionally borders on bright, but the detail is fantastic and the mids, whilst sometimes slightly recessed, are there and sounding great.

These are the most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever worn, and they are also very versatile. As well as this, even though they are rated at 250 ohms, they are surprisingly easy to drive; I am currently listening to them plugged into a late 90s Sony micro-hifi and they are brilliant.

If you listen to a wide range of music and want a headphone (primarily for home listening) that can be worn comfortably for a long time and with brilliant sound quality, then you'll struggle to find any better than these in this price range.
