The DP-008EX compact recorder offers 8 full-fledged mono tracks with rugged hardware controls for volume, stereo placement and reverb. With the DP-008EX you can record microphones and instruments via XLR and 6.3mm inputs, using up to two tracks simultaneously. Wires are optional, as the recorder is equipped with two built-in condenser microphones that deliver an outstanding sound quality.

Recording and mixing on the DP-008EX
The DP-008EX records each track separately in CD-grade quality to the included 2GB SD card, or to your own SD/SDHC card of up to 32 GB. Various editing functions are available per track, including cut, paste, move and duplicate. If you want to free up tracks on the Tascam DP-008 EX, then you can bounce multiple tracks to one. After the tracks have been mixed, you can send the stereo mix to your PC or Mac by means of the USB output of the recorder. As icing on the cake, the Tascam DP-008EX also features a built-in metronome and tuner.

Extras
Monitoring is possible via a 3.5mm headphone output or via RCA outputs, and the DP-008EX can be powered by means of four AA batteries or a separately available power adapter. Additionally, the recorder features a number of great extras, such as insert effects for each input, including a 2-band equalizer, compressor, exciter and de-esser. Effects such as multi-band compressor and normalize can be applied to the master mix.
