Way back in the 1980s, Focusrite made mixing consoles. The 12 that they made are considered to be among the best sounding consoles ever produced. Back then the computer didn't really have a place in the studio, but the ethos was to enrich peoples' lives through music.  Fast forward to the present day, and Focusrite are still on that same mission.  Now the team at Focusrite make audio interfaces, and that's all they do. The primary function of an audio interface is to sit between you and your sound being shared with the world, and many believe that Focsurite are the best in the world at making that happen.

Why are Focusrite held in such high regard?  Many believe that the best interface should help you record your sound, exactly as it is. Focusrite Scarlett Interfaces

The replacement for the popular Saffire series of interfaces, also engineered to incredibly high standards. The Focusrite Scarlett interfaces are available with a single microphone input (the Scarlett Solo) up to 8 mic channels (the Scarlett 18i20) with high grade mic pre-amps and 192 kHz sample rate to capture every nuance of your sound.  Generation 3 Scarlett interfaces are bundled with Pro Tools First, Ableton Live Lite and plenty of plugins - plus if you register your product you can become part of the plugin collective, which gives you access to incredible plugins bi-monthly for free!

Decades of analogue circuit design experience, applied around 24-bit/192kHz A-D and D-A conversion, delivers a superior signal path. In addition, the Air-enabled mic preamps can reproduce the input impedance, clarity and frequency response curve of their original ISA mic preamp. Included software is from XLN Audio, Focusrite, Softube, Ableton® and Loopmasters.

A slimmed-down version of the legendary Reason virtual studio, Reason Rack Plugin Lite lets you run the full Reason Rack as a VST3/AU/AAX plugin in any Mac or PC DAW. The Rack plays host to 19 characterful devices, including the Redrum drum machine, Subtractor and Monotone synths, ID8 ROMpler, Scream4 Distortion, RV7000 Reverb, MClass mastering effects, and Scales & Chords MIDI processor. They can be used individually, or freely combined, connected and routed via Reason’s famous ‘backside’ patching interface to construct elaborate modular hybrids. And support for Rack Extensions means your device list can be bolstered with any of over 700 add-on devices in the Reason Studios Shop at any time.

You can run as many instances of Reason Rack Plugin Lite in a project as your computer can handle, and it can also be deployed as a standalone music production application in its own right, enabling sequencing and editing of up to eight audio and/or MIDI tracks, with full access to the Rack and all its devices. Whichever way you choose to use it, Reason Rack Plugin Lite makes for a unique and hugely creative synthesis, signal processing and sound design system that’s sure to take your music down new and inspiring avenues.
