ADAM Audio

ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been pushing the envelope in the development of professional studio monitor speakers.

Adam are known for the distinct X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeters used in their studio speakers. This feature is based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil, largely the reason for the company’s founding. The tweeter produces sound using a pleated diaphragm instead of the piston-like diaphragm found in most of the loudspeakers on the market. It is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving. A breakthrough in nearfield speaker design.

As well as the new X-ART tweeter design, Adam have now produced the S-ART tweeter, which improves the consistency of dispersion and imaging stabilisation over a wider area. You'll find these tweeters in the Adam A series speakers, notably the A7X which is trusted by many top sound engineers and producers of all levels. The S-ART can be found on the S series speakers.
